The HenrySteinweg story begins in the Harz mountains of Germany, where Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg, founder of Stinweg, was born in 1797. When Henry grew up, he became a carpenter. Because of his love for music, he began to make his own instruments and gradually became interested in making pianos. Later, he emigrated to the United States and founded the Steinway Company with one mission: to make the best piano in the world with the greatest possible effort. The phrase can still be found on the paystubs of more than 2,000 employees of the Th.Stinweg Nachf. Piano Company. In 1880, it established a subsidiary company in Hamburg, Germany to make it easier for European customers to buy the piano. Today, except for the American market, the "Th.Stinweg Nachf." is made in Hamburg.
